New York City, May 2004We began our trip with a visit to Dia:Beacon in Beacon, New York. Jennifer Mackiewicz, director of Dia:Beacon walked us through the dramatic former Nabisco box-printing facility and gave a personal and inspiring tour of the collection. |

Melany and Al Terranova hosted a wonderful party at a penthouse piano bar that gave us a very special bird's eye view of a fabulous city that was to be our home for the week! |

Our architectural historian guide led us on a tour of the waterfront downtown, that included the footprint of the World Trade Center site and the Andy Goldsworthy "Garden of Stones."

We had a great lobster roll in the "Chelsea Market." |

At Christies we met with Latin American art specialist, Ana Sokoloff to discuss highlights of the Spring Latin American sale coming up in Paris. Amoung the works she previewed with us was Jose Clemente Orozco's La cantina which she felt might set a record for the artist. |

We enjoyed a visit with Ron Warren, Director of the Mary Boone Gallery in Chelsea and a discussion about the Chelsea art scene. |

As we made our way through Chelsea, we came upon lots of fun work by young artists and some images that will be hard to forget, such as the work by John Newsom at the Mike Weiss gallery in Chelsea. |

It was so good the first time, that we returned to the "Chelsea Market" for another lobster roll! |

We had a great visit to James Carpenter Design Associates where we learned about their projects that included the Time Warner Center, Battery Park City, World Trade Center Building 7, and the Fulton Street Station. |
